Harbor House Inn Policy

Our first policy is to serve you, to the best of our ability, and that you will enjoy your stay in Sackets Harbor and return as our guest. One way we provide our guests with an enjoyable experience is that we do not over book. Harbor House Inn has a limited number of rooms, so when you make your reservation, your room is guaranteed with a credit card, and the reservation is subject to our cancellation policy.


Rates may vary due to seasonality and are based on double occupancy unless otherwise indicated; add $10 per person, per night for additional guests

Rates are subject to change at the owner’s discretion without notice

A light breakfast is provided to our guests at no charge

Payment is due at check-out and can be made with cash or credit card. By asking us to reserve a room you automatically give us the authorization to charge your card in case of cancellation/no shows, as described below

If you are redeeming a gift certificate the number must be provided when you make your reservation. In the event of a no-show or late cancellation, the gift certificate will be applied and any remaining balance charged to your card. Gift certificates expire one year from date of issue. If not used by the expiration date no refunds will be issued.

Checking In/Checking Out

Check-in is any time after 3:00 pm. Early check-in is sometimes possible when requested. You may receive an email when your room is ready.

Check-out is 11:00 am. Late check-out may be available only if your room is not reserved for that afternoon, for an additional $30 Late Check-Out Fee.

Please return your key to the front desk. Lost or not returned key fee is $25

Photo ID may be required at check-in


Cancellations LESS than 48 hours before check-in, but still ahead of that date: We reserve the right to hold you responsible for 50% of your unused reservation. Do let us know as soon as possible… if we can fully or partially rebook the room, we reduce this charge proportionately (to a minimum of $30). We dislike charging anyone for time they are not here – that’s not our goal, and maintaining goodwill is important to us as a business. But this is our livelihood, and a late cancellation on a room that has been off the availability chart for a prolonged period can often result in the inability to rebook the room.

No shows and same day cancellations: By not allowing any possibility of rebooking the room, no shows and same-day cancellations will incur full cost of the reservation.

Online Reservations with Expedia and other Booking Agents

Should you need to cancel your reservation, you must go back and do it through your original booking agent’s website.

Excessive Noise or Disturbances

Guests generating excessive noise or bothering other guests will be asked to leave the Inn immediately without a refund


The Harbor House Inn is a completely non-smoking facility. Understand that if hotel staff find any evidence (such as used cigarettes and tobacco/vapor residue or odor) anywhere in the building, including the sleeping room, a $250 higher nightly room rate will be charged to the credit card that was used to secure the reservation or pay the higher room rate in cash at the time of checkout.

Smoke detection monitors are in all guest rooms


At this time, we do not accept pets

If you do bring a pet with you, we can arrange with a local pet boarder to take care of your pet during your visit, for an additional fee

Property Issues

Any damages, stolen items, or broken items occurring during the stay will be the full financial responsibility of the guest, including anyone traveling with the guest.

Any special clean-up resulting in damages caused by the guests will be charged to the credit card. Charges may need to be applied after guest departure as deemed necessary by the Owner

Please report all spills and/or damages to the front desk promptly

All items in the rooms can be purchased.

Owner’s Rights

Harbor House Inn is privately owned and operated.

We are not responsible for accidents, injury, or loss of property of any kind.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone… and you understand that we do not have to explain our reason for this decision.
